Well, that went remarkably well...
Apr. 13th, 2003 03:20 pmJohn finally showed up yesterday. Just as I was starting to make tentative plans for the weekend, think that I could get everything in, he called on Friday to announce that he was showing up the next day. They had been camping, thought they'd made it clear they were camping, thought they'd made it clear they were getting here on the 12th, etc.
And he wanted to know what was up with Erin. We talked for about an hour. No anger, no accusations, jsut concern. When he got here he actually took the "I don't have time to yell about this, so let me hug you and we'll talk later" approach. Erin feels loved. Wow. Maybe he has changed.
In the meantime, I'm fighting the brain-sucking virus that Ferrett and Jeff have been battling. On Friday I was so exhausted that I was falling asleep at the wheel on the way home - singing Gilbert & Sullivan opera at the top of my lungs and STILL having my eyes roll back in my head. My own voice kept getting far away. I staggered in the house and collapsed for two hours. Could not rise, despite a couple efforts on Ferrett's part to awaken me. Got some homework done, then went to bed and stayed there until after 11, took a nap in the early afternoon, took a nap in the early evening. And between my brain is moving like molasses. I can't find words, don't understand what people are saying, stammer. This is frustrating, because I don't really have the excuse I need to simply lie down and get well. I'm not exactly sick, but I can't quite shake it. In between is frustrating.
We're going to the Titanic documentary with Kat & Eric this evening, and then to fondue. It won't be a late evening, but it will be a change of venue. I finished writing my two short Motions, and did the taxes, so I'm feeling like despite everything the weekend was not a loss. After this is simply straight studying - getting caught up on the reading, outlining, learning the rules, honing info for finals. A lot of work, but manageable.
