I finally earned this icon
Aug. 21st, 2005 01:46 pmSchool starts tomorrow, bringing an end to my regularly scheduled bike commuting. Oh, I can still bike on Fridays, when I don't have class, and to school for my Saturday morning class, for which I won't take a computer, but for the most part the biking has reached the end of the proverbial line.
But I hadn't quite accomplished my goal for the summer, so today I set out to do so.
Summer of 2004, I put 15 miles on my bike.
Summer of 2005, I've put 1,000 miles on it.
I put in a 25-mile ride in order to turn the odometer today. Technically, I had a little cushion; I'd put in 15 miles of riding before I put the odometer on the bike. But, OCD me, I wanted to see all those big zeroes. And a mile from the house, I did. Luckily, it was on a relatively quiet patch of road so that I didn't get hit because I was watching the odometer instead of where I was going.
I feel happy.
