NaNo, Week three

Closing in on 35,000 words. And it's interesting that as I reach the part of the book that I thought would be at least 75% of the story I find that it is likely instead to be a detour, a singular crisis in a story that is otherwise about the part that I thought was going to be simply introduction and denoument.

Assuming I my character decides that she is willing to do what I expect her to do. She's still surprising me.

How's everyone else's story developing? Characters moving along the way you expected, or are they surprising you as well?
