I finished Amy's quilt. Pictures aren't great - it's hard to photograph a queen-sized coverlet! But I think she will be happy with it.
Next project is to concentrate on the piece for
yuki_onna's art show. I'm excited and nervous about doing a piece for the book. Drawing board time!

That's absolutely gorgeous. That is most definitely heirloom quality, lucky Amy.

One day, a decade or two in the future, Amy and her SO will be de-cluttering and a ratty looking lump of fabric will be discovered:
SO: "what on earth is this? Eeeewwwww. Can we throw it out?"
Amy: "No! It's my quilt, the one my mom made for me!"
SO: "But it's faded and stained and raggedy and we never use it"
Amy: "What part of MY MOM MADE IT FOR ME do you not understand. The quilt stays!"

Your lovely handmade quilt will have a much more illustrious career, I'm sure. It's beautiful! Congratulations to you, Ms Creator, and to the lucky daughter recipient, for bringing beauty into the world!

(as a side note, people often use something like a coke can to reference the size of the quilt, but that's a very minor complaint)

My time for quilting is definitely at a premium, but I'm really bad at sitting around with nothing to do.
