I finished Amy's quilt. Pictures aren't great - it's hard to photograph a queen-sized coverlet! But I think she will be happy with it. Sparing your bandwidth )

Next project is to concentrate on the piece for [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna's art show. I'm excited and nervous about doing a piece for the book. Drawing board time!

Housework

It's amazing how easy it is to be too busy to get more than the basics done around the house. I walked out into the kitchen today and went all Bette Davis - what a dump. So, it being a quiet sort of morning, I decided to scrub the counters and the floor.

And then, satisfied at last that things looked good, I thought, "Why, we don't need this almost empty bottle of ketchup sitting here with this almost new one. I'll pour the remains into the full bottle.

You can already anticipate what comes next. As I took off the lid of the almost-empty bottle, it sort of exploded out of my hand, flying to the floor and spattering ketchup everywhere.

If I'd done it yesterday, it would hve been a seamless operation. But after cleaning the kitchen? Cosmic comedy gold!!!

In other news, I finally got around to using my new vacuum cleaner - because of course using first requires assembling, and I hadn't had time to assemble.

Man, this thing has more horsepower than my Saturn. It pulls itself forward, and I practically have to jog to keep up with it. Wrestling it back takes some actual muscle; even though our house is small I was hot and sweaty by the time I finished.

But it's cleaner. Still more to do, but work beckoned. And I needed to recover!
