Utterly Anglophiled
Aug. 19th, 2006 11:20 amUpon returning from the airport - where I dropped Ferrett off to fly to Connecticut - I was delighted to find a box from Amazon containing my new electric kettle. Making this even better was the fact that Ferrett found PG Tips tea at the supermarket yesterday (in the English section of "ethnic foods").
I am now drinking a civilized mug of good English tea that I have brewed myself. It's not curing my cold, but it is soothing my throat. I intend to do precisely nothing today, except pamper myself and try to get well. The laundry, the unpacking, the final clearing out of the dead fridge, can all wait for tomorrow. Today is tea, naps, a bit of reading, more tea, more naps, and then an early bedtime.
Right after tea.
